Wenonah Warriors Triumph: In a historic moment, the Wenonah girls’ flag football team secured their first-ever state title in the 1A-5A championship game. The thrilling game, marked by twists and turns, culminated in overtime with a decisive play by Samarian Franklin. With flawless execution, Franklin sprinted towards the goal line, sealing the program’s inaugural flag football state title.

Despite facing challenges during the game, including two interception game picks, Franklin’s resilience and determination prevailed. Completing 18 of 32 passes with one touchdown, along with contributing 32 yards on 10 carries and punting four times, Franklin played a pivotal role in the championship victory.

Wenonah’s Head flag football coach, Cedric Lane, recognizes Franklin’s potential, stating that she has the talent to compete for a spot on the national team.
