Veterans Day Celebration Set at USS Alabama: In Mobile, the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park is gearing up to pay tribute to our veterans on November 10th for their annual Veterans Day celebration.
Kicking off at 7 a.m., a poignant flag-raising ceremony at the Vietnam Memorial will set the tone for the day.
At 3 p.m., the Veterans Day Celebration takes center stage in the Medal of Honor Aircraft Pavilion. Leading the ceremony is the Parade of Flags, featuring spirited fourth-graders from Mobile and Baldwin counties.
The event promises a patriotic performance of the national anthem by Harrison Bridges, with USS Alabama Crewmates joining for the pledge of allegiance.
Keynote speaker Carrington Hodge, the esteemed 2023 Distinguished Young Woman of America, will share her insights.
Keep an ear out for the announcement of the 2023 Veterans Day essay contest winners, who will proudly read their winning entries.
Adding to the musical tapestry, Baker High School’s band will serenade the gathering with patriotic tunes. Joining the festivities are the LeFlore High School JROTC program and the delightful Mobile Azalea Trail Maids.
As the day winds down, at 7 p.m., the Mobile Symphonic Pops Band takes the stage for the Veterans Day Concert in the Medal of Honor Aircraft Pavilion. Under the baton of David Dueitt, the concert promises a blend of traditional patriotic melodies, military marches, and contemporary favorites.
The park will warmly welcome visitors for tours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s a day of honor, reflection, and gratitude.

Can you stay on the USS Alabama?
The Overnight Adventure Program welcomes participants aged 6-18 and their chaperones. Please note that additional family members or friends are not eligible to participate in the program, and children under the age of 6 are not allowed to stay overnight on the ship. Thank you for your understanding.
