Still Serving Veterans Giving Tuesday Campaign: Serving and Supporting North Alabama Veterans

Still Serving Veterans Giving Tuesday Campaign: HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Giving Tuesday stretches beyond just one day for Still Serving Veterans (SSV).

SSV, a nonprofit based in Huntsville with a mission to serve and honor Veterans and their families, extends its ‘Giving Tuesday’ campaign until December 5. The goal is to aid veterans in need across North Alabama.

The nonprofit highlights assisting over 2,000 Veterans this year in securing new jobs or VA benefits, all at no cost to them or their families.

SSV’s Veteran Resource Team, dedicated to North Alabama, has supported 67 veterans with rent, utilities, and food, amounting to over $45,000. More than half of these clients have also received assistance from SSV in job counseling and/or VA disability claims.

In 2022, SSV reported raising just over $8,000 for local veterans during its Giving Tuesday Campaign. The team aims to surpass this number to provide support to more veterans like Melissa, a proud U.S. Army veteran.

“As we express our gratitude this time of year for the blessings we enjoy, please help SSV assure that Veterans in crisis receive the support they need,” says Rich Landolt, SSV CEO.
