Ezekiel Elliott: New England Patriots Leading in Free Agency

Ezekiel Elliott : After the Dallas Cowboys released Ezekiel , his search for a new team for the 2023 NFL season is gaining attention. In free agency, several teams want to sign the veteran running back, but the New England Patriots are leading. Elliott visited the team in New England and discussed a potential new deal.

During his stay, he had dinner in Seaport with the Patriots’ quarterback, Mac Jones. This surprised everyone. Despite the logical reason for their meeting, a viral dinner picture sparked backlash.

People mocked the couple for sitting on the same side of the table, facing the wall. The picture sparked funny jokes and comments on social media.

Besides the restaurant incident, fans were concerned about the Patriots potentially signing Elliott. Despite declining stats, he still has potential as an offensive contributor. His skills are intriguing as they fill a void in the current Patriots team.

Bill Belichick frequently uses running backs in groups during his coaching career. Since Damien Harris joined the Buffalo Bills, the Patriots have fewer running backs. Elliott could fill this spot as he has skills not fully shown by Pierre Strong and Ty Montgomery.

Elliott is nearing the end of his NFL career, excelling as a blocker and short-yardage specialist. Last season, he performed well in these jobs behind Tony Pollard with the Dallas Cowboys. He could do the same with the Patriots, backing up Rhamondre Stevenson.

Last year, Harris had around 10 touches per game for New England, so Elliott has a good chance of playing. He’s a great blocker, a skill Belichick would surely appreciate, especially for protecting Mac Jones during key pass plays.

The Patriots may add Ezekiel  to their team, adding a new twist to their offense and more running back options for the upcoming season. As talks continue, fans await the final decision on this pairing.
