Coa Bar: Reigns SupremeAsia Best Bar for Third Consecutive Year

 Coa Bar: Hong Kong’s Coa bar has won Asia’s Best Bar for an unprecedented third year, cementing its status as the continent’s top drinking spot.

Coa bar, led by visionary Jay Khan, is known for its mezcal and agave spirits, captivating spirits lovers worldwide.

On July 18, Hong Kong’s Rosewood Hotel announced the top 50 winners.

Hong Kong dominated the rankings with seven top-50 bars. The Old Man, a tribute to Ernest Hemingway, placed 47th, and Penicillin, a sustainable product, placed 26th.

Beckaly Franks of Hong Kong’s The Pontiac was named the “bartender’s bartender.” The Pontiac, named after Native American Chief Pontiac, is an LGBT-friendly all-female team.

Singapore won Asia with 11 bars on the list.

The 50 Best organization, known for its reviews of top restaurants and hotels-to-be, also named “best in destination” bars in their countries, cities, or regions.

The Four Seasons Hotel’s Bar Trigona, Malaysia’s highest-ranked bar, placed 36th.

Trigona’s head bartender and bar manager, Rohan Matmary, was thrilled to attend the Hong Kong ceremony for the first time. “It’s an incredible honor to represent Malaysia,” Matmary exclaimed. The bar scene is growing fast despite cultural factors.

Hong Kong fans chanted “Coa! Coa!” before the top bar was announced, building anticipation.

Red scarves distinguished top 50 representatives from the excitement. Coa won after Singapore’s Jigger & Pony was announced as the second-place winner.

Despite Coa’s praise, Jay Khan, who launched The Savory Project in Hong Kong with Ajit Gurung, remains grounded. Khan modestly told the press after the ceremony, “We will maintain our unwavering commitment to excellence and embrace whatever the future holds.” We may never be number one, and that’s fine.”

The Asia’s 50 Best Bars Academy carefully selects the list. The bar industry, media, and regional mixologists ensure a comprehensive and authoritative ranking.

Fans and connoisseurs eagerly await the unveiling of Asia’s best bars for 2023.
