Georgia Nyland Green Heads to Transfer Portal: The talented defensive back

Georgia Nyland Green Heads to Transfer Portal: Georgia redshirt sophomore defensive back Nyland Green is set to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, as reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Green, who played as a reserve in all 13 games for the Bulldogs this season, accumulated seven tackles and one pass breakup. Over three seasons in Athens, he participated in 26 games.

A four-star cornerback recruit from Covington (Ga.) Newton, Green was ranked as the No. 50 overall prospect and No. 3 cornerback in the 2021 cycle, according to On3 Industry Ranking.

On3’s Chad Simmons notes that schools such as Arkansas, North Carolina, and UCF are ones to watch in Green’s recruitment.

The NCAA Transfer Portal serves as a private database containing names of student-athletes looking to transfer. Green’s entry into the portal allows other schools to contact him, and he has the option to withdraw from the portal if he changes his decision. However, once a player enters the portal, the current scholarship is no longer obligated to be honored.

The transfer portal has been in operation since October 15, 2018, and the new calendar cycle within the portal starts each August. The On3 Network provides real-time tracking of transfer portal activity, including player profiles, rankings, and updates on their destination. On3’s Transfer Portal Instagram and Twitter accounts are valuable resources for staying updated on the latest moves.
