Parrot Heads Gulf Coast Fiesta: A Melody of Memories and Economic Boost

Parrot Heads Gulf Coast Fiesta: BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. The Parrot Heads bid farewell to the Gulf Coast after a week of reveling in Jimmy Buffett‘s tunes, crafting memories, and leaving an economic imprint in south Baldwin County.

Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Tourism spokesperson Michelle Russ hailed it as a triumphant week.

“It was a fantastic event, drawing over 3,000 attendees, and the impact resonated across the island—boosting local businesses and lodging,” Russ shared.

She noted that without the Parrot Heads, Orange Beach and Gulf Shores would have seen a stark contrast this time of year.

Russ emphasized that this recent weekend, with a multitude of Parrot Heads, brought a more substantial impact and revenue to lodging, surpassing some summer weekends.

“With over 3,000 additional people in town this time of year, we naturally expected a substantial increase in occupancy and lodging revenue,” Russ stated.

We visited a local business to gauge the impact during the Parrot Heads event. Flora-Bama Marketing Director Jennifer Parnell expressed gratitude for the boost during the slow offseason.

“Traditionally, this time of year is slower than the summer, so having them here really lifted our business spirits, and we were thrilled to have them,” Parnell shared.

The Parrot Heads are set to return to the Gulf Coast in 2024 and for years to come.
