Wilmer Woman Receives 35 Month Sentence: On October 24, 2023, Brittany Theresa Pugh from Wilmer, Alabama, faced the judgment of United States District Court Judge Terry F. Moorer, receiving a 35-month prison sentence for conspiring to possess methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
The legal saga unfolded on December 26, 2020, when the Mobile County Sheriffs Office detective responded to a call in Eight Mile, Alabama. Deputies were in hot pursuit of a black Chevrolet pickup, and Pugh, a passenger, took off on foot during the chase. Law enforcement apprehended her, discovering she had twenty-six grams of ICE methamphetamine, $7,878.00 in cash, a stash of marijuana, suboxone stripes, a glass pipe with tubing, and digital scales for weighing drugs.
Fast forward to March 4, 2021, Pugh found herself in the sheriff’s deputies’ spotlight again. This time, she was behind the wheel with two passengers. A search of the vehicle revealed about thirty grams of ICE methamphetamine, a bit of marijuana, and a glass pipe with tubing. One of the passengers admitted to buying meth from Pugh.
Court documents unveiled another incident in June 2020, where Pugh, again a passenger, was in a vehicle stopped by law enforcement in Mobile County, leading to the discovery of methamphetamine.
The Mobile County Sheriffs Office spearheaded the investigation, and Assistant United States Attorney George F. May handled the prosecution.
