Tuscumbia Festive Christmas: Get ready, Tuscumbiait’s time to turn the town into a winter wonderland! The 3rd annual Parade of Holiday Porches is rolling back into town, bringing joy and festive vibes to the Christmas season. If you call the historic neighborhoods surrounding downtown Tuscumbia home, you’re invited to join in the fun!
The Parade of Porches seems to have become a tradition in Tuscumbia! People who have participated and decorated their homes in the past have really enjoyed sharing their creativity and their Christmas spirit with their friends and neighbors. We can’t wait to see the festive atmosphere that this year’s efforts will bring to our town,” shared Sue Mangum, one of the event’s organizers.
Lorie Johnson, president of the Colbert County Historical Landmarks Foundation, which sponsors the event, expressed excitement about continuing this fun tradition.
“We are so thankful to all who participate and decorate their porches, making the season that much more beautiful and enchanting for each of us. We love highlighting these beautiful displays.”
The Parade of Porches kicks off from December 8 to December 31, 2023. Participation is free, and there’s no charge for individuals to drive along the designated display routes at their own pace.
To add a touch of magic, there’s an evening Trolley Tour at 5:00 p.m. on December 9 during the Dickens Christmas festival, offering a guided view of the beautifully adorned porches. Let the holiday spirit shine in Tuscumbia!
