Tharptown Wildcats Secure Double Victories: The Tharptown Wildcats are keeping the winning momentum alive, securing victories against Belgreen and Phil Campbell this week.

Against Belgreen, Tharptown dominated both ends of the court, sealing a 48-33 victory. The Wildcats showcased their prowess by outscoring Belgreen 19-10 in the first quarter and 17-8 in the fourth quarter. Leading the charge was Dylan Valdez, amassing an impressive 16 points, with 11 of those coming in the opening quarter.

Edwin Vela contributed eight points, sinking two crucial three-pointers in the second half. Dalton Maldonado added six points, Malachi Minor notched five points, Jackson Clement contributed two points, and Israel de la Rosa secured one point.

Facing off against Phil Campbell, Tharptown maintained their winning ways with a final score of 45-42. The Wildcats took control early, leading 9-5 in the first quarter and maintaining a 25-18 advantage at halftime. Although Phil Campbell staged a comeback in the second half, narrowing the gap to 37-32 in the third quarter and briefly tying the game in the fourth quarter, Tharptown stood firm.

Dylan Valdez once again led the scoring charts with 18 points, including three successful three-pointers in the first quarter. Dawson Higgins chipped in with seven points, Malachi Minor contributed six points, Edwin Vela added six points, Jackson Clement secured four points, and Dalton Maldonado notched four points.

Despite facing adversity with three starters sidelined due to the flu, Phil Campbell saw commendable performances from senior Gage Baker and freshman Austin Elliott, each scoring 15 points. Hagen Raper contributed five points, Hayston Scott secured four points, and Madden Welch notched three points.
