Tanger Invests Big in Huntsville Bridge Street: In exciting news for Huntsville, Alabama, the upscale outdoor shopping district, Bridge Street Town Centre, located in Cummings Research Park, has been acquired by Tanger for $193.5 million. Covering 825,000 square feet and featuring over 80 retail stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues, Bridge Street is a prominent shopping destination in north Alabama.

Tanger, well-known for its discount outlet shopping centers, referred to Bridge Street as an “open-air lifestyle center,” marking its first property of this kind in the Tanger portfolio. Stephen Yalof, President and CEO of Tanger, expressed the company’s commitment to creating value through strategic investments in open-air retail destinations, citing Bridge Street as a natural extension of their capabilities.

Shoppers can expect continued access to best-in-class stores, events, and programs, with no plans to change the shopping district’s name. Tanger Outlets, with 38 locations across the country, operates its only Alabama outlet in Foley. While TangerClub memberships and gift cards may not be used at Bridge Street, the shopping district is currently at 93 percent occupancy.

Bridge Street Town Centre boasts a dynamic tenant mix, including the market’s only Apple Store, top apparel, footwear, and beauty brands, and several larger format retailers. The center also features a variety of restaurants, catering to both dedicated and transient employee and residential populations. Entertainment options, such as Main Event and the 14-screen Cinemark Bridge Street and XD, further enhance the center’s appeal.
