San Marcos Arrests: Trio Faces Serious Charges in Immigrant Kidnapping Case

San Marcos Arrests: In San Marcos, the cops caught three people. They were accused of planning to take immigrants hostage and ask for money.

Mason Castillo, Robert Cruz, and Jeremiah Villarreal, all 19 years old, were found. People smuggling, organized crime, aggravated robbery, and aggravated kidnapping for ransom or payment are some of the charges they are now facing.

Ten people from Mexico going to Austin said strangers took them in August. They were held hostage in a house in San Marcos until the people who took them got a lot of money.

The victims didn’t know where the house was, but a security tape and a radius map helped the police find it. Castillo, Cruz, and Villarreal were linked to the crime by phone records and security video. Castillo and Villarreal have been accused of selling people in the past.

After a month of investigating, Detective Casey Tennant got arrest warrants for the suspects. The cops found them in three houses in San Marcos. Even though no victims were found, the proof shows that the suspects did terrible things.

The safety of everyone is a top priority for the San Marcos Police Department. They want people to tell them right away if they see something strange.

Castillo, Cruz, and Villarreal are kept in the Hays County Jail. Every person who is in jail has a $1 million bond.
