Pit Bull Puppy Survives Fentanyl Ingestion: Owners May Face Legal Action

Pit Bull Puppy Survives Fentanyl Ingestion: Officials confirm pit bull puppy ate owners’ fentanyl stash, received overdose-reversing drug, recovering.

The Irvine Police Department stated that the dog’s owners may face charges for drug possession and animal abuse.

The events began with a “consensual” meeting between the couple and police outside Walmart. Officers found fentanyl in their car, leading to the arrest of two individuals, as confirmed by department spokeswoman Kyle Oldoerp.

Things got scarier when the woman in jail worried her dog had too much medicine. Not the first time the dog was in trouble.

Oldoerp said, “She knew the symptoms because it was the dog’s second overdose.”

The question was how the dog got exposed to this potent drug, 50 times stronger than heroin. Oldoerp admitted that the exposure details were initially unclear, causing rumors.

“We can only guess if they’re using drugs in their car,” he said.

At the police station, the sick dog received naloxone for drug overdose treatment. The pit bull responded well to treatment and improved.

The names of the individuals in this situation are undisclosed. The authorities will decide whether to return the puppy to its owners. It depends on an upcoming meeting.
