Myrick Record-Breaking Performance: The Mississippi State volleyball team showcased exceptional determination in a sweeping victory against Alabama [25-20, 25-22, 25-17] during their road trip. Head coach Julie Darty Dennis commended the team’s focus and commitment, emphasizing their readiness to play hard against a formidable Alabama squad.

Libero Lauren Myrick achieved a significant milestone by reaching her 1000th career dig in the first play of the match. Myrick’s stellar performance continued with a team-leading 15 digs and a season-high four aces, along with six assists. Coach Dennis praised Myrick’s hard work, teamwork, and seamless transition to the libero position.

Sophie Agee led the Maroon and White with 16 kills, showcasing consistent excellence. Karli Schmidt contributed significantly with 11 kills and a .500 hitting mark, adding depth to the team’s front line.

Amina Shackelford impressed with eight kills, a season-best seven digs, and a block, while Rebecca Walk and Caylee Sharkey made valuable contributions.

Setters Erin Kline and Emily Oerther distributed a combined 36 assists, with Oerther leading the team with 25 assists. Sanaa Williams stood out in blocking, recording six blocks for the Bulldogs.

Mississippi State displayed a cohesive effort, compiling 47 kills with a .282 hitting percentage, while limiting Alabama to 29 kills on a .122 clip.

The Bulldogs look forward to their next challenge against Georgia in Athens, Georgia, aiming for another successful performance.
