Mobile County Residents Warned of Deceptive Law: Mobile County Residents Warned of Law Enforcement Impersonation Scam

Mobile County, Alabama – The Mobile County District Attorney’s Office issues a cautionary alert to residents, urging them to be wary of fraudulent law enforcement impersonators.

A recent alert notified the DA’s Office of a scammer posing as a law enforcement official, contacting Mobile County citizens regarding alleged arrest warrants and claiming the issuance of subpoenas.

The fraudulent individual is soliciting cash payments, instructing individuals to bring the funds to Government Plaza. They assure that meeting outside will prevent the execution of the warrant and subsequent arrest.

The scammer may assert a judge’s gag order, preventing the targeted individuals from discussing the phone call with anyone. Notably, the scammer manipulates caller ID, displaying a Government Plaza number while illegally spoofing it.

The DA’s Office strongly advises recipients of such calls to refrain from responding, emphasizing the deceptive nature of the scam.

Residents who have information about this scam are encouraged to contact the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office at 251-574-8400. Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to safeguard the community from such deceptive practices.
