As they traveled back to Michigan, he returned and started fighting with them again. The town was horrified the next day by a horrific event.
Sheriff Swanson claimed Humphries showed his girlfriend a dead duck to encourage her to do what he wanted. The sheriff’s remarks are terrifying: “He goes to the bar and takes one of the ducks.” He then removes the head and adds, “Look at this.”
