Jayden Daniels and Nathaniel Watson Shine: In a resounding decision, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels earns the unanimous title of Associated Press Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Year. On the defensive front, Mississippi State linebacker Nathaniel Watson secures the title of Defensive Player of the Year.

Texarkana’s own Landon Jackson, a standout graduate of Pleasant Grove, makes a notable appearance on the second-team defense. Jackson, ranking third in the SEC in sacks, led Arkansas with 13 1/2 tackles for loss and 6 1/2 sacks in a stellar 44-tackle season. His standout performance against Alabama earned him SEC defensive lineman of the week honors.

Missouri’s head coach Eliah Drinkwitz claims the Coach of the Year accolade, guiding the ninth-ranked Tigers to the Cotton Bowl against No. 7 Ohio State. Alabama safety Caleb Downs emerges as the top newcomer, making a significant impact with 99 tackles, two interceptions, and an 85-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Jayden Daniels, a Heisman Trophy contender, tops the nation in total offense with 3,812 passing yards and an impressive 40 touchdowns against only four interceptions. Additionally, Daniels showcases his running prowess with 1,134 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns.

Nathaniel Watson, the SEC’s leading tackler, boasts 137 tackles and 10 sacks, making him a force to be reckoned with on the defensive end. Watson also adds two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and an interception to his impressive season.

Other unanimous first-team picks include LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers, Missouri running back Cody Schrader, Georgia tight end Brock Bowers, and Georgia center Sedrick Van Pran.

The AP All-SEC teams were determined by a panel of 14 sportswriters and broadcasters covering the league.
