Enaruna Heroics Seal Victory: for Cleveland State Against ETSU

Enaruna Heroics Seal Victory: Tristan Enaruna took charge, scoring 28 points, including the game-winning layup with four seconds left, guiding Cleveland State to a narrow 72-70 victory over East Tennessee State on Wednesday night.

Enaruna showcased his skills with seven rebounds and three steals for the Vikings (4-2). Drew Lowder added 14 points, shooting 6 for 15, and grabbed six rebounds. Ramar Pryor contributed nine points, shooting 4 of 6 from the field.

Facing a seven-point deficit in the second half, CSU engaged in a back-and-forth battle with ETSU. With less than 40 seconds remaining and trailing by one, Enaruna made a crucial lay-in to put the Vikings ahead. Quimari Peterson then tied it up with a free throw, but Enaruna responded on the next possession with a driving layup, securing the victory.

The Buccaneers (2-3) were led by Ebby Asamoah, who scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. Jaden Seymour contributed 16 points, eight rebounds, and two steals, while Quimari Peterson finished with 11 points, four assists, and two steals.

East Tennessee State had a final chance to win, but Peterson’s 3-point attempt missed in the closing seconds.

The game was part of the annual Viking Invitational and took place at Woodling Gymnasium, the Vikings’ former home arena for 18 years before the opening of the Wolstein Center in 1991. Over 1,400 fans filled the stands for this nostalgic event.
