Eco Clean Marine Sweeps Alabama Gulf Coast: Down along the Alabama Gulf Coast, a non-profit crew, Eco Clean Marine, is on a mission to tidy up our local waters and beaches, tackling one piece of trash at a time. They set sail in January 2022, operating from Fort Morgan, Alabama, to Panama City, Florida, orchestrating monthly trash pickups with local businesses and groups.
Their upcoming gig is on Saturday, November 18, and they’re not just cleaning; they’re throwing a shindig too! The inaugural volunteer appreciation party kicks off at Jesses on the Bay in Fort Morgan, right after the trash pickup.
Courtney Dombroski, the bigwig at Eco Clean Marine, says it’s a breeze to join in. “Just show up, and we’ve got it all laid out for yougloves, grabbers, vests,” she said. The trash cleanup extravaganza starts around 8:45 a.m. and keeps rolling’ until 11:00 a.m. Then, it’s time to kick back at Jesses for the volunteer appreciation party starting at 11 a.m.
For those who can’t make it in person, there’s another way to pitch in: grab a “Bucket of Goodwill” for five bucks. Buy a bucket of trash, and all the cash from that gets tallied up for Gulf Shores,” explained Dombroski. It’s like a friendly competition to see which city can fill the most buckets.

Eco Clean Marine’s mission? To spruce up the Gulf Coast beaches and school the next generation on the vital role of maintaining our ecosystem. “Inspire the young ones to love our environment, change their hearts, and keep our beaches spick and span for the future,” said Dombroski.
They’re not just cleaning; they’re nurturing too. Eco Clean Marine installed fish-feeding machines along the Gulf Coast to give the ecosystem a boost. And hey, while feeding the fish, you can snag an e-book from their website, educating you about the local marine life along the panhandle. Let’s keep the Alabama shores shipshape and make waves for a cleaner, greener future!
