Decatur Chiropractor Faces Legal Requests: Amidst Attempted Murder Charges

Decatur Chiropractor Faces Legal Requests: MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. A Decatur chiropractor, facing charges of attempted murder of his wife, seeks to modify his weekend reporting requirements. Brian Mann from Hartselle has been complying with the obligation to report to the Morgan County Jail every Friday at 4 p.m., staying until Monday at 8 a.m., and wearing a GPS ankle monitor during the week since January.

Mann now requests a relaxation of these requirements to secure employment for child support. In court filings, Mann details interviews for various jobs, noting the need for flexible availability on weekday evenings and some weekends.

The defense contends that Mann struggles to financially support himself and pay child support, falling further behind. Emphasizing Mann’s adherence to the court’s no-contact order with his wife and children, the defense urges the court to acknowledge his faithful performance of other bond conditions.

Letters from different job offers received by Mann are included in the filings. The Decatur chiropractor was arrested in September 2022, accused of intentionally poisoning his wife with lead, resulting in her hospitalization for nearly two months.

Although the couple was in the midst of divorce proceedings, they were halted pending the resolution of criminal charges. Originally set for trial in October, Mann’s trial date has been rescheduled to May 13, 2024.
