Chicago police officer: Blue on Blue Chicago Cop Misfire Hits Fellow Officer in Englewood

Chicago police officer: The city’s police oversight board said Thursday that a Chicago police officer accidentally shot another officer while trying to shoot a speeding car in Englewood earlier this week.

Monday’s shooting. South Shields Avenue police attempted to stop a driver. The police shot a motorist who rammed a police car.

The Civilian Office of Police Accountability reported that the police responded to a report of lawbreakers nearby. A video revealed police that people were hanging around in an alley, according the complaint. Police in four unmarked cars approached the gathering. COPA alleges the group had a black sedan.

The driver fled and rammed a police car. After after, two police officers shot the automobile, according to COPA.

“They think that while shooting at the car that was trying to get away, a Chicago police officer accidentally shot another officer in the hand,” stated COPA First Deputy Chief Administrator Ephraim Eaddy. They didn’t find a gun or see somebody shoot one from the car.

The officer’s body camera caught the shot. Investigators are searching for more videos to identify the killer. Nobody was jailed.

Center. Doctors said he was fine. At a hospital press conference, Fred Waller, the temporary Superintendent, stated they didn’t know who shot first. He claimed police were investigating a crash around 95th Street and Princeton Avenue at the same time.
