Brooks High Student in Custody for Threatening Email: In Killen, Alabama, the Lauderdale County School System (LCSS) reported on Monday that a student is now in police custody following a threatening email sent to a staff member over the weekend.

In a social media post, LCSS disclosed that the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) took the student into custody. The arrest is linked to a threat sent to a Brooks High School staff member via a non-school-related Gmail account.

Sheriff Joe Hamilton confirmed that the juvenile, a Brooks High student, faces second-degree making a terrorist threat charges. The student is currently held in the juvenile detention facility.

LCSS initiated an investigation in collaboration with the sheriff’s office after the threatening email was discovered over the weekend. The subsequent probe confirmed the involvement of a Brooks High School student.

The threatening email targeted an individual staff member and hinted at potential violence on campus. Notably, the email did not mention any student names or groups.

Despite the resolution of the immediate threat, LCSS assured that daily security measures would persist across all Lauderdale County Schools to ensure the ongoing safety of students and staff.
