Brock Colvin Declares Candidacy for State Senate: Republican Representative Brock Colvin has officially announced his candidacy for the Alabama Senate, vying to represent District 9. The decision follows the resignation of Senator Clay Scofield, who is set to assume a role with the Business Council of Alabama. In a statement, Colvin expressed gratitude for the community’s support, emphasizing his commitment to conservative values.
A fifth-generation Marshall Countian and graduate of the University of Alabama, Colvin brings a background in finance and economics. With experience in the insurance industry and currently serving as a financial planner at Ameriprise Financial, he believes he is well-suited to build on the conservative foundation laid by Senator Scofield.
Colvin’s track record includes supporting farmers, safeguarding property rights, and advocating for small businesses to enhance Alabama’s appeal as a great place to work and raise a family. He has championed rural broadband expansion while opposing unnecessary taxes and government expansion. Identifying as a pro-life, pro-second amendment conservative, Colvin expresses gratitude for the trust placed in him by the people of House District 26.
Elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 2022, Colvin has swiftly gained recognition as one of its most conservative and independent members. He pledges to protect voters’ rights, advocate for parental input in education, and resist ideologically-driven policies. Colvin is an active member of the Rotary Club of Albertville and belongs to the Albertville and Boaz Chambers of Commerce.
Senate District 9 comprises Marshall County and portions of Blount and Madison Counties.
