Birmingham Sports Teams Unite for Pre-Thanksgiving: On a heartwarming Wednesday, the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama embraced a special pre-Thanksgiving gesture from Birmingham’s fantastic five professional sports teams. After a spirited week-long campaign, they unloaded a whopping 753 pounds of nourishment, destined to bring sustenance to over 630 folks in the Birmingham metro area.

The Birmingham Stallions, Barons, Bulls, Legion FC, and Squadron united their efforts in this inaugural food drive, showcasing the power of teamwork beyond the fields.

Ginger Pegues, the Director of Development at the Community Food Bank, expressed immense gratitude for the local sports teams rallying together to combat hunger in their community. The collected food is set to grace the pantries and tables of neighbors, adding a touch of warmth just in time for the holidays.

This marks the first occasion where all five local teams have collaborated on a project that extends beyond the sports arena, making a meaningful impact on the community they call home.

Spanning 12 counties in Central Alabama and collaborating with 220-plus agency partners, they strive to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry at night.
