Barkley Applauds Jalen Milroe Gridiron Journey: Charles Barkley, a devoted Auburn supporter, doesn’t shy away from praising Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe for his resilience and growth this season. Barkley commends Milroe’s positive attitude when benched earlier in the year and highlights the quarterback’s thriving performance since reclaiming his starting position.

Watching Milroe support his teammates with enthusiasm and avoid complaints during his time on the bench, Barkley appreciates the young quarterback’s selflessness. He notes Coach Nick Saban‘s decision to return to Milroe’s strengths as a turning point, leading to the sophomore’s impressive contributions in Alabama’s nine consecutive victories, culminating in the SEC Championship Game against Georgia.

Barkley attributes Milroe’s character and response to adversity to his upbringing, expressing a desire to meet the quarterback’s parents, whom he hears served in the military. Barkley, known for his admiration of teachers and those in the service, wants to convey his respect to Milroe’s parents for raising a commendable young man.

Despite initial doubts and challenges, Milroe has amassed over 2,500 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns, 439 rushing yards, and 12 rushing scores entering the SEC title game. Barkley acknowledges Milroe’s growth as a player and expresses pride in the quarterback’s journey from early struggles to becoming a key figure in Alabama’s success.

“I’m really proud of him. And I’m really proud of him as a player because I’m always going to be a player first. I mean obviously I’m a fan now, but all of my thoughts are always going to be like, ‘What would I do as a player?’” Barkley emphasizes, highlighting Milroe’s resilience and contributions to the team’s success.
