Alabama Dealerships and Salvation Army Unite: Distributing 3,400 Food Boxes for Thanksgiving

Alabama Dealerships and Salvation Army Unite: Addressing the pressing issue of food poverty during the Thanksgiving holiday, The Salvation Army joined forces with the Toyota Lexus Minority Owners Dealership Association (TLMODA). This collaborative effort saw the distribution of over 3,400 food boxes, each containing non-perishable essentials like cereal and canned goods, at various participating Toyota dealerships nationwide.

In adherence to safety guidelines provided by federal, state, and local health authorities, local Salvation Army teams constructed and packed the grocery boxes. Families in need were directed to collect these boxes by visiting the designated Toyota dealerships.

Jim Colon, President of TLMODA, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting the communities they operate in. The collaboration, spanning 33 Toyota and Lexus dealerships across the U.S., aimed to assist children facing food insecurity, particularly during the Thanksgiving school break. Each food box provided enough sustenance to feed a family of four for a week.

Colon expressed joy in announcing another collaboration with The Salvation Army, highlighting the distribution of over 3,000 food boxes. The initiative strives to ensure that no family or child in their communities goes without food during the holiday season.

The Salvation Army expressed gratitude for the ongoing partnership with TLMODA, spanning three years in providing food for those in need. This joint effort is a testament to their commitment to supporting families during the holiday season.

Participating Toyota dealerships spanned across various states, including Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New York, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington.
