Harrison High School Athletes Secure College: in Alabama, Michigan, and Indiana

Harrison High School Athletes Secure College: In Lafayette, the spotlight shines on three high school athletes making moves to colleges in Alabama, Michigan, and Indiana.

Leading the pack is Aiden Schwartz, right pitcher for Harrison, securing a spot at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Despite facing major injuries in high school, Schwartz’s determination prevailed. Missing his sophomore year due to a hyperextended UCL and ending his junior year with a shoulder muscle injury, he pressed on. Pitching for the Indiana Bulls in the summer showcased his resilience.

Known for his 88 to 89 miles per hour throws, it’s his cutter that caught the eye of UAB recruits.

Signing alongside Schwartz is JC Goodrich, an offensive and defensive lineman heading to Trine University. Goodrich, the first Harrison player in a decade to earn starting roles on both offense and defense, boasts 15 tackles, including five for loss, and contributed to an offense averaging 30 points per game.

Harrison, with a 9-2 record, clinched its third consecutive North Central Conference title and reached the IHSAA 5A Sectional Championship.

Calen Rose, a standout striker from McCutcheon, inked her commitment to Siena Heights University, an NAIA Division II school in Adrian, Michigan. As one of the Mavericks’ leading points contributors during her four-year varsity career, Rose played a crucial role in the team’s journey to the IHSAA Class 3A Sectional title against Harrison, finishing the season at 7-10-1.
