Alabama Campaign Staffer Involved in Threatening Incident: with New York Congressman

Alabama Campaign Staffer Involved: A Congressman from New York, Rep. Brandon Williams, revealed that a former staffer, Michael Gordon, who had also been involved in various Alabama campaigns, was caught on video threatening Williams’ family. Williams explained to Politico that after firing Gordon, the former chief of staff attempted to expose Williams’ 27-year-old daughter’s OnlyFans account.

OnlyFans is a platform that charges subscribers for access to explicit content. Gordon, who previously worked on campaigns for Sen. Tommy Tuberville, GOP Senate candidate Mike Durant, and 2020 congressional candidate Jessica Taylor in Alabama, faced accusations from Williams of trying to ruin his family.

Gordon, in his account to Syracuse.com, claimed Williams threatened him, stating, “I know things, Michael. I know you’re trying to ruin my f—ing family. I’m going to try to ruin you.” Feeling threatened, Gordon said a waiter tried to intervene, even warning Williams about the proximity of his suit jacket to a candle flame.

In a traumatic incident, Gordon believed Williams might physically harm him. Talking to Politico, Gordon denied the allegations made by Congressman Williams, calling them categorically false.

Williams implicated his former legislative director, Ryan Sweeney, in the scheme, but Sweeney dismissed the allegations as completely false. Earlier this month, a video emerged of Williams threatening Gordon in Washington, stating, “You f— with my family, I’ll end every relationship that you have. Every single friend. Do you understand me? Do you understand me? You think I don’t know?”

A member of the wait staff tried to intervene, but Williams, at a holiday party sponsored by a Washington lobbying firm, knocked the phone out of the person filming it. Gordon, who previously served as Williams’ campaign manager and chief of staff before parting ways in April, was accused by Williams of sharing details of the OnlyFans account and making rude comments about Williams’ wife.

Williams saw Gordon’s actions as an attempt to exert leverage, stating he wouldn’t allow it to happen.
