Alabama GOP Showdown Erupts as Vivek Accuses Nikki Haley of Corruption

Alabama GOP Showdown Erupts as Vivek Accuses: During a recent GOP debate in Alabama, tech entrepreneur and Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy launched a scathing attack on fellow contender Nikki Haley. Ramaswamy not only brought up his previous concerns about Haley’s religious faith and naming choices but also accused her of corruption, dramatically holding up a sign that read “Nikki = corrupt.”

In his speech, Ramaswamy criticized Haley for what he termed as “identity politics” and questioned her authenticity. He shifted the focus to corruption allegations, stating that while serving as governor, Haley’s family income allegedly tripled in the first five years after the 2004 election. Ramaswamy further claimed that she accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts and awarded lucrative state contracts to companies providing her access to private jets.

Accusing Haley of a conflict of interest, Ramaswamy highlighted a $120 million incentive to Boeing in South Carolina, followed by her joining Boeing’s board after leaving public service. Post her tenure as UN ambassador, Ramaswamy alleged that Haley accumulated over $8 million, including earnings from her family’s military contracting business. He criticized her for allegedly collecting corporate stock option grants while actively running for the presidency, boldly declaring, “The math doesn’t add up. Nikki Haley = Corrupt.”

When given the chance to respond, Haley chose not to engage, stating, “It’s not worth my time to respond to him.” The heated exchange took place among four contenders for the Republican presidential nomination during the fourth presidential debate in Alabama for the 2024 cycle.
