Alabama Native Bryant Vincent Takes Helm as ULM Head Football Coach

Alabama Native Bryant Vincent Takes Helm: Longtime UAB staffer Bryant Vincent is set to become the head football coach at Louisiana-Monroe, following his 2023 season as the offensive coordinator at New Mexico. Vincent’s appointment comes after Terry Bowden was fired last month, and ULM finished the 2023 season with a 2-10 record, going 0-8 in the Sun Belt Conference.

During his tenure at New Mexico, Vincent played a crucial role in transforming the Lobos’ offense from ranking last in total offense in 2022 to the 47th-ranked offense in 2023. Notably, the rushing offense reached the 19th spot, with running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt finishing as the 17th-leading rusher in the nation.

Bryant Vincent, 48, spent the majority of his career in Alabama, initially as a high school coach for over a decade before joining the South Alabama staff in 2011. He later became assistant head coach and offensive coordinator. After a stint at UAB, where he assisted in winning two Conference USA championships, Vincent served as interim head coach when Bill Clark retired in 2022. Subsequently, he joined New Mexico in 2023.

ULM Athletics Director John Hartwell expressed excitement about Vincent’s appointment, citing his passion, positivity, and a proven plan to elevate ULM football. Vincent, known for his relationship-oriented coaching style, aims to guide the program to new heights. Having worked with Bill Clark at UAB and enjoying success, Vincent is expected to bring valuable experience to the Warhawks.

Vincent expressed his enthusiasm and honor at becoming the head football coach at ULM, confident in building a championship program with the leadership and vision of President Dr. Ron Berry and Athletic Director John Hartwell. The Warhawk family is called upon to unite as one for the upcoming challenges and successes under Vincent’s leadership.
