Alabama Farmers Cooperative in Morgan County: The Alabama Farmers Cooperative (AFC) in Morgan County is stepping up to alleviate the pressure of inflation on holiday spending for parents in north Alabama. Through several public donation drives, the co-op aims to support local children during the holiday season.

Toys for Tots donation drop boxes have been placed at the co-op’s corporate office, seeking new, unused toys for kids in Morgan, Cullman, and Lawrence Counties who may not otherwise receive a gift on Christmas morning. Additionally, drop boxes for Clothe Our Kids of north Alabama, a nonprofit providing clothing and essentials to students in need, are available.

The co-op emphasizes the impact of these initiatives on children’s lives, making their holidays more special and contributing to their well-being. Al Cheatham, AFC Executive Vice President and COO, highlighted the importance of giving children a good start, believing it’s a way to pay it forward and help build future good citizens.

The goal for 2023 is to collect 150 toys through the Toys for Tots drive and provide sufficient socks and underwear for at least 20 students. The focus is on catering to all age ranges, with special attention to older high school-aged kids, ensuring that every child has a memorable holiday season.

Donations can be made at the co-op corporate office in Decatur, Alabama, until December 6th, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. The community’s support is vital in making a positive impact on the lives of children in need during this festive season.
