Wallace State Industry Meet-Up Connecting Students: Students at Wallace State Community College had the opportunity to engage with potential employers and explore internship, apprenticeship, and job opportunities during the monthly “Industry Comes to Wallace” event hosted by the college’s Center for Career and Workforce Development (CCWD).

Representatives from various companies, including the United States Army National Guard, Oak Dental Partners, Blount County Communication District, and Comfort Systems USA Mid-South, participated in the event. The event aims to connect businesses in North Central Alabama with Wallace State students in relevant programs for potential job roles.

Recruiters set up tables in the Bailey Center Lobby to display company materials and interact with students individually. Presentations were also held in the Bailey Center Auditorium, providing recruiters the opportunity to share information about their companies and answer questions from students.

One of the participating companies, Comfort Systems USA Mid-South, a commercial HVAC company, emphasized the importance of events like Industry Comes to Wallace State for the trade industry. The company discussed the various services it provides, including HVAC work, construction services, and plumbing.

Recruiters stressed the demand for individuals entering the trades, highlighting the growth potential and job opportunities in the field. The event aimed to bridge the gap between students and employers, offering valuable networking opportunities.

The next Industry Comes to Wallace State is scheduled for December 6 in the Bailey Center Lobby and Auditorium.
