Prattville Christian Girls Clinch Victory: Prattville Christian, overcoming the absence of key players Jones and Thomas, showcased their winning spirit in the Coach Larry Chapman Foundation Tip Off Tournament. Coach Roberson emphasized their identity—finding ways to win. Despite missing the ‘Twin Towers,’ the defending 4A state champions dominated with a 57-31 victory over 5A Brew Tech.

Senior guard Avery Rogers, the sole starting senior, emerged as the tournament’s MVP. Her impressive 62-point performance, featuring 14 three-pointers, solidified her role as a leader. The team’s tradition of seniors stepping up continued, with Rogers embodying resilience and determination.

Freshman Kayden Carr played a crucial role, not only contributing 16 points and four rebounds but also showcasing defensive prowess against Brew Tech’s top player, Erin Martin. Carr’s tenacity limited Martin to one field goal in the first half.

The team’s triumph in the tournament, marked by a quick 14-point lead, underlined their adaptability. Coach Roberson acknowledged the challenge but expressed confidence in the team’s ability to evolve, proving they remain contenders.

Jenna McClendon’s solid performance, securing nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds, highlighted the team’s depth. Baylee Rogers, Ally Blankinchip, Laura Beth NeSmith, and Leah Cate Wilson each contributed to the well-rounded victory.

As they stand at 5-0, Prattville Christian looks ahead to hosting Montgomery Academy, confident in their ability to maintain competitiveness and secure more victories in the upcoming season.
