The shift from a 100% to a 50% matching of employee contributions impacted the budget significantly. The closure of other supporting companies in surrounding counties further strained resources. This decline, coupled with the effects of COVID, has led to cutbacks in various charitable organizations.
Knight acknowledges the difficulties faced by many amid these challenging times. Despite this, she emphasizes the importance of community collaboration to extend outreach and aid those in need. Knight aims to secure additional funding by involving more businesses, government bodies, and individuals.
