ACF Internships 2024 Dive Into Coastal Care: Protecting Alabama Gulf Heritage

ACF Internships 2024 Dive Into Coastal Care: ACF plays a pivotal role in enhancing and safeguarding Alabama’s coastal environment. Spring interns take on responsibilities such as recruiting and coordinating volunteers for the Martin Luther King Jr. Cleanup and education programs spanning grades 1st-8th. ACF is on the lookout for new interns for the upcoming year.

This is an unpaid internship, requiring a minimum of 10 hours and a maximum of 40 hours, eligible for course credit. The schedule is a collaborative agreement between ACF and the applicant.

ACF’s executive director, Mark Berte, emphasizes the character values sought in interns: strong analytical skills, collaborative work approach, initiative, and the ability to work remotely while fulfilling job responsibilities.

ACF houses programs that educate current and future leaders, offering meaningful volunteer opportunities to support the coastal environment.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, ACF, established in 1993 in Fairhope, now spans the entire state of Alabama. Collaborating with the Nature Conservancy, ACF works with local, state, and national sectors to preserve the coastal environment.

Alabama has two coastal counties, and 40% of the country’s seafood comes from the Gulf of Mexico,” Berte highlights. “Protecting it ensures not only current enjoyment but also for future generations, including our kids and grandkids.”

The deadline for spring applicants is November 30, while for summer, it’s April 30. Join ACF in making a positive impact on Alabama’s coastal beauty!
