The album pays homage to the group’s history, with its name derived from the Birmingham radio program where they had their first professional performance in 1944.
Despite the losses of original members like Clarence Fountain and George Scott, the Blind Boys, with members like 91-year-old Jimmy Carter, continue to create powerful and timeless music.
The Grammy winners will be announced on Feb 4, 2024, in Los Angeles, with the Blind Boys competing in categories typically part of the Grammys Premiere Ceremony.
