Alabama Mural Trail Unveils Free Statewide: If you’re a fan of discovering vibrant murals and capturing selfies in front of them, the Alabama Mural Trail’s latest digital passport initiative is tailor-made for you.

Developed in collaboration with various state tourism and economic development organizations, the Alabama Mural Trail, curated by the University of Alabama Center for Economic Development (UACED), boasts an impressive collection of over 300 murals spread across 60 counties statewide.

How to get a mural passport

Begin your mural adventure by heading to the Alabama Mural Trail Passport webpage. Sign up for a complimentary digital passport online, and receive it conveniently through text message and email

During your mural explorations, activate your location services when at a mural to check in. Don’t forget to capture a photo in front of the mural, share it on Facebook and Instagram, tagging @alabamatourist, and using the hashtag #SweetHomeMurals to showcase your artistic journey.

Earn prizes via Alabama Mural Trail passport

With the new passport, travelers can earn points by visiting a selection of murals on the trail. These points can be exchanged for prizes, and pick-up locations for these prizes can be found on the Alabama Mural Trail website.

Add to the Alabama Mural Trail

If you stumble upon a mural not yet part of the trail, fear not! The UACED team is on a mission to include all 67 counties of Alabama in the trail. They are open to mural submissions that meet specific criteria. So, if you know of a mural that deserves a spot, you can submit it for consideration.
