BCSO Body Cam Video: Deputy Confronts Armed Man in Northeast Bexar County

BCSO Body Cam Video: The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office shared a video of a deputy’s encounter with an armed person in northeastern Bexar County in August, recorded on a body camera.

On August 19, BCSO police responded to a fight near Converse. Deputy Johnny Garcia from the BCSO said they were all over the parking lot.

A guard saw a man hiding a gun and told the police. The man swiftly left the bar in a car.

The police caught the suspect near a sports bar on Ferrysage Dr. Two guys chased them after they left the car, recorded on video.

During the chase, a cop with a Taser missed a man. When asked to drop guns, tension rose among people near a fence.

Terrance Duckworth, 32, pointed a gun at the cop. Garcia said the cop fired 3 shots at Duckworth, hitting him in the hip and buttocks.

While Duckworth got help, the police caught the second suspect. Duckworth was hospitalized.

Duckworth was wanted for a parole violation, carrying an unpermitted gun, and fleeing.

The second suspect, a 29-year-old man who fled on foot, was charged with a DWI warrant, possessing a gun, and resisting arrest.

The 28-year-old driver faced police evasion charges.

Two weapons were found after repair. Things got worse.

The BCSO is investigating why Deputy Suarez (10 years) and Deputy Mendez (9 years) are on leave.
