San Antonio Family Quest for Justice Amid Tragedy: Murder Case Unfolds

San Antonio Family Quest for Justice Amid Tragedy: A San Antonio family seeks revenge in the halls of justice. Their hearts are heavy from losing a loved one. With unwavering resolve, they attend court hearings in large numbers. Their presence ensures the accused killer remains in jail until justice is served.

“We don’t want the system to fail my brother,” says Nalleli Aguilar, the deceased man’s sister. My brother didn’t deserve this.”

In June 2022, a tragic event occurred outside a business on the Northwest Side. Bryan Aguilar was fatally stabbed, ending his life tragically. After a few months, Marc Champoux was indicted for murder, and guilt could no longer be hidden.

Champoux had a history of breaking rules and orders, worsened by a prison sentence for an attack case. Dark clouds loomed as he was a person of interest in his ex-wife Samantha Lopez’s murder despite no charges filed.

In May 2021, Lopez’s life was tragically ended before her children. This occurred outside her Austin Highway apartment complex and was quite frightening. Champoux was detained and questioned about her death but not charged.

Aguilar’s determined mother, Elsa Rodriguez Valadez, spoke for her family, saying, “Enough crime and injustice.”

Valadez and her family are gathering at the courthouse in solidarity. Their appearance shows their determination. They want their voices heard louder when Champoux goes to court.

Champoux’s absence in the courtroom meeting was noticeable. Valadez said the prosecutor needed more time to build their case. Champoux now does self-defense, which is unexpected.

Currently, the accused remains in jail, with the murder charge looming. It was denied a bond reduction earlier this year in a formal meeting.

As justice swings, doubt lingers. Champoux, the main character in this legal drama, still awaits a trial date, leaving his family anticipating justice.
