Community Unites in Support of Young Cancer Fighter: in Orfordville Tractor Drive

Community Unites in Support of Young Cancer Fighter: On a Sunday, Orfordville town united for an unusual cause. Instead, they rallied around a young resident battling stage four cancer.

A parade of 115 tractors in Orfordville showed people’s care for each other. It was part of the charity Tractor Drive fundraiser. Their goal was to raise money for Cashton Purkapile, a four-year-old diagnosed with stage four liver cancer, a severe illness.

Seeing a four-year-old struggle is tough, but the community’s support is a beacon of hope. The event planner, Hannah Petersen, praised the town and its determined youth.

Each tractor paid $25 to participate, showing unity, while each rider paid $10. There was a silent sale and raffle at the event, raising money for Cashton’s family during these challenging times.

Cashton’s mom, Katy Purkapile, expressed gratitude for the support from loved ones and the community. She praised her son’s strength and the community’s help in their daily battles.

Cashton and his family were led to the event by authorities as a surprise. It made the day even more special. Joan Kamholz, founder of Justice for a Cure, was pleased to see Cashton’s big smile upon seeing the impressive line of cars.

Despite Cashton’s challenges, his family finds strength in the love they receive from their community.
