Maryland Elementary School N95 Masks: In third grade, kids at a public school in Montgomery County, Maryland, near Washington, DC, must wear masks again.
This is because many students in that grade tested positive for COVID-19, and it’s better to be safe. Clay Travis, founder of OutKick, gained attention by sharing a letter allegedly sent to parents of Rosemary Hills Elementary School. The letter states that multiple people in [redacted] class have contracted COVID-19 recently. It explains the school’s safety measures for in-person lessons.
The school’s director, Rebecca Irwin Kennedy, explained the need for N95 masks in classrooms for the next ten days. This is done to reduce virus spread. Masks are required for some classes or events at school for students and teachers. Some people may not need to wear masks while eating. The letter states that parents can stop wearing masks after ten days of isolation.
The school provides test kits for kids to use at home for safety. They also want parents to watch for signs of their children having COVID-19. The letter mentions CDC testing suggestions. Tests should occur “5 days after exposure (starting on the 6th day)” or when symptoms arise. Principal Kennedy emphasizes the importance of adhering to the new mask rules for safety. This includes both teachers and students in the same room.
