Sweeney spoke candidly on the SAG-AFTRA strike’s misperceptions in Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood issue before the strike.

Sweeney also discussed her career and how her ambition for fame has harmed her family. She thanks her parents for sacrificing so she could become an actress at 12. However, their devotion cost. They divorced and had financial issues when she started acting.
Sweeney reflected, “My parents gave up a lot to help me reach my goals, and they had their own problems along the way.” I had to prove their work was worthwhile.
Even though she’s busy, Sweeney wants to balance career and family. She said, “I had hoped to have a child by now.” I felt sad thinking about raising a child early. I’m interested in performing, the business, and production, but without a family connection, I don’t understand the point.
Sweeney addressed allegations that she was in love with Glen Powell, her co-star in the upcoming romance comedy “Anyone But You.” Sweeney mentioned it while thinking about her family. “Well, it’s a romantic comedy, so that’s what people are expecting!” she laughed off the reports.
