17th Annual Holiday Arts Sale Brings: The Auburn Arts Association and Auburn Parks and Recreation are gearing up for the 17th Annual Holiday Arts Sale at the Frank Brown Recreation Center and the Harris Center on Saturday, November 18th, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This festive event features both local and regional artists showcasing their handmade creations, including pottery, paintings, photography, handmade soap, jewelry, scarves, hats, candles, and moreall available for purchase.
Emillie Dombrowski, the art education specialist for the city of Auburn Parks and Recreation, encourages early holiday shoppers, noting the diverse array of homemade goods catering to everyone’s shopping list.
“We have culinary artists, woodworking, woodturningpretty much anything you could turn into a hobby, we have an artist who sells it,” she said. “There’s going to be over 10,000 items for your holiday shopping.”
To accommodate the 110 vendors showcasing their work, this year’s art sale will occupy two buildings. It’s an excellent opportunity for locals to support regional artists, meet them in person, and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Golf carts will be available to assist shoppers to and from the parking lot.
Dombrowski highlights that this holiday art sale is the region’s first for the year, offering shoppers a first look at artists’ work for the season.
“What’s cool is that this market is pretty much the first holiday market in our community, so you’re going to get the fresh pick from all of the vendors,” she explained. “Some of them do multiple markets, and you’re going to get that first pick.”
Moreover, portions of the proceeds from this event will contribute to supporting the Auburn Arts Association’s art education programs, making it a festive and purposeful shopping experience.
