Parker High School Triumphs: In a heart-pounding matchup last Friday night, Parker High School’s football team clinched their first Regional Title since 2014 with a dramatic 13-10 triumph over Mountain Brook.
The game was a nail-biter, and it was junior athlete Na’eem Offord who stole the spotlight with the go-ahead rushing touchdown in the final seconds, sealing the deal for the Thundering Herd.
Head Football Coach Frank Warren attributed the victory to a simple strategy, stating, “Get the ball in the best player’s hands and have them make the play.” This philosophy proved effective as Offord’s decisive play secured the regional title for Parker.
The win propelled Parker High School to a 7-1 record for the season, maintaining an undefeated 5-0 record in region play. The victory was particularly crucial for Parker, setting them back on course after an overtime loss to Pleasant Grove in late September.
Offord, a five-star top 100 recruit, played a pivotal role in the team’s success. He is recognized as the number one recruit in the country for the Class of 2025 in the Cornerback position by 247 Sports.
Offord has already committed to participating in the Under Armour All-America Game later in the year and boasts over 40 Division One offers, including from prestigious programs like Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Michigan, Penn State, and Georgia.
With an impressive performance of two touchdowns and 115 yards on 12 carries against Mountain Brook, Na’eem Offord rightfully earns the title of CBS 42 Athlete of the Week.
