Suspected Wedding Crasher Faces Charges: in Lauderdale County Apology Offered in Court

Suspected Wedding Crasher Faces Charges: In Lauderdale County, Sandra Henson, infamously known as the “southeast wedding crasher,” appeared in court facing charges related to stealing gifts and money from weddings in Florence and Tuscumbia in 2019. Henson, who attended dozens of weddings, expressed remorse during her preliminary hearing.

“I’m sorry for all the pain that I’ve caused,” Henson said. “That’s what I have to say. I’m just sorry; that’s all I can say.”

One victim, Anna Perez Todd, got married in 2019 and unexpectedly received a call during her honeymoon about stolen money from her reception. Todd and her husband had asked for charitable donations in lieu of traditional gifts, intending to support research for FOXG1 syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that her daughter Aria has.

“It’s a crime that is hard to know that you’ve been a victim of, so it’s a tough one, but when you are, it really stings,” Todd said.

Despite being on probation in Mississippi for similar crimes, Henson was arrested at a wedding in October. The trial is scheduled for December 11. Todd advises future couples to designate someone to keep an eye on gifts during their weddings.
